Back to the Top of Al Hirschfeld's Drawings

| Search By Alphabetical Listing | The A-Z Search is an index that allows you to search by the Drawing's Title or the Names of the People portrayed. A Helpful Note: When a Hirschfeld Drawing is of a single person—whether as a portrait, or as a single actor in a play or in a film—the title of the Drawing is usually listed under the person’s name—often by the first letter of the person's first name. For example, a solo portrait of Frank Sinatra will usually be listed under Frank. We like to think of each of these Drawings as a Hirschfeld Soliloquy.
Sometimes Hirschfeld Drawings are also listed by genre, such as Jazz, Opera, and Classical Composers. If you are looking for Giuseppe Verdi, you will find him both under Giuseppe and Classical Composers. | |
This Search Bar allows you to type in the Title of a drawing or the Name
of a person drawn. Usually three or four letters is sufficient.
Please type rather than copy/paste. Using fewer characters may yield a better result.
